Description
Cute Valentine's Day card with cute illustrations and also a cute message that is little more deep than most Valentine's Day cards. I believe the girl stirring a bowl is representing her stirring thoughts about her crush and she is being bashful and the inside message is her being thankful for Valentine's Day so she can express her feelings to her crush. This would be a little odd for children that young to get this meaning so maybe it was for a teenager or maybe even a young adult. That's my take but maybe you have your own.It is an embossed card and also has what appears to be gold leaf wherever it is gold on the cover which gives it a nice shine with light reflection. The embroidery is printed and not an extra layer of material. But, it does have a nice aesthetic cut shape.
Condition good for it's age - it has no tears, good color and no creases. The inside will appear "dirty" looking but it is likely browning that is typically paper of this age. This isn't obvious on the front cover, but you may see small stains on the gold areas when light is reflecting. It looks like it was also glued onto a scrapbook hence the marks on the back.
Card is 3-1/2" x 5"; made circa 1940s by Whitney in Worcester, Massachusetts.
